Fared was made while on a residency in Cushendall, Co Antrim, Northern Ireland. At the small towns centre stands the Curfew Tower, an iconic red sandstone building that was originally built by Francis Turnley in 1820. Five artists were invited to work in Limerick City Gallery for five weeks as part of Behind Smoke and Mirrors, a project organised and curated by Susan Holland. Carl Giffney graduated from the National College of Art and Design Ireland in 2007. Since this time he has been involved in many diverse projects both nationally and internationally. Between exhibiting and traveling he holds a permanent studio at The Good Hatchery. This site documents various aspects of his work and interests. It is currently being built and is updated regularly.
